Let's prepare the beach bag and backpack for the children together.
Preparing for a day at the beach requires some organization to ensure you have everything you need to relax and have fun, so I've decided to put together a quick guide on what to bring to the beach, which I think is essential.
Here is a complete list of essentials to bring with you:
1. Clothing and Accessories
- Swimsuit : Put it on before you leave, bring a spare one or underwear to wear after your shower.
- Pareo : Perfect for going from the beach to the bar or restaurant, in some places it's especially popular for lunch at the restaurant. Have you seen our suggestions yet?
- Hat : A wide-brimmed hat or cap to protect you from the sun. I always opt for the bucket version, which you can fold up and throw in your bag.
- Sunglasses : With UV protection to protect your eyes. The ones from JC NY are gorgeous!
- Flip-flops or sandals : Comfortable and easy to take off, especially when using the toilet!!!!
2. Sun Protection
- Sunscreen : Choose a sunscreen that's right for your skin type and apply generously. I usually start with SPF 30, then when I'm a little more tanned I use SPF 15, but SPF 30 is a must-have in my bag.
- Lip balm with SPF : To protect lips from UV rays. Discover our beauty line.
- Beauty case: To store all your sunscreens in
3. Towels and Beach Towels
- Beach towel : To lie down on the sand and dry yourself after swimming.
- Small towels : I usually opt for a mini bathrobe to use after the shower.
4. Entertainment and Activities
- Book or e-reader : To read and relax under the umbrella.
- Beach games : Ball, rackets, Frisbee, bucket and spade for children.
- Music and headphones : To listen to your favorite music.
- Snorkeling kit : Mask, snorkel, and fins if you like to explore underwater.
5. Food and Drink
- Water : You can freeze a bottle the night before to always have fresh water, or buy it directly at the bar.
- Snacks : Fruit, energy bars, sandwiches, and other easy-to-carry snacks.
- Cooler bag : To keep food and drinks cool.
6. Comfort and convenience: free beach or equipped beach?
- Folding chair or lounger : To relax comfortably.
- Beach umbrella or tent : To create a shaded area and protect you from the sun.
- Beach bag : To carry everything you need, the beautiful ones from Aqualicious are lightweight and super roomy, coordinated with the beach towel.
- Beach clutch : Please don't use leather bags at the beach! Opt for a mini canvas or terrycloth clutch, perfect for carrying just the essentials and taking it with you to the shore or to the bar.
- Mat or beach mat : Place this under your towel to prevent it from filling with sand. This is especially true if you're visiting Sardinian beaches, like La Pelosa, where a mat is mandatory.
7. Hygiene and Personal Care
- Wet wipes : To freshen up or clean your hands.
- Hair oil: Useful for preserving shine and softness, an ally against saltiness.
- Shower set: opt for solid soaps, they will take up less space.
- Shower beauty: To be used for the shower set, preferably laminated so that you can also put your wet swimsuit in it.
8. Extra for Children
- Beach toys : Buckets, spades, and sand molds. I carry very few, and only in their backpacks.
- Armbands : For safety in the water.
- Change of clothes : To wear after the shower, usually just a spare pair of underwear or an extra swimsuit. If you shower at the beach, a very comfortable cape-shaped bathrobe is essential.
Helpful Tips
- Checklist : Create a checklist so you don't forget anything.
- Time : Arrive early to get a good spot and avoid the hottest hours.
- Hydration : It is important to drink often, especially on hot days.
- Applying sunscreen : Reapply sunscreen every two hours and after swimming.
I hope my tips were helpful. Now all you have to do is book your beach day and enjoy!
